Kate Gosselin is getting through her knee injury with help from her boyfriend, Steve Neild.
Gosselin, 50, took to TikTok on Tuesday, October 7, to share a “Day in My Life” video documenting her recovery one week after she underwent a painful leg surgery following an accident involving one of her dogs. Among the photos included in the montage was one of a bowl of cereal and a mug of coffee resting on a tray on Gosselin’s lap as she sat in bed.
“Breakfast made with extra love … by you know who,” the Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum captioned the post, adding a laughing emoji and seemingly referring to Neild. She has previously mentioned him on her account but has mostly avoided saying his name for privacy reasons. (Page Six identified him as Neild, her former bodyguard, last month. She has since referred to her boyfriend as “Steve” in a TikTok Live.)
“Protein/Fiber cereal with banana ❤️,” Gosselin continued.
Kate Gosselin Shares Update After Undergoing Surgery: 'Details Coming Soon'
Gosselin revealed via TikTok on September 30 that she had been hospitalized, sharing a photo of her arm with an IV in it and asking fans for prayers.
“I will be fine, but I’m scared and would appreciate your prayers! Thanks, guys,” she wrote at the time, promising that she would give fans a “story time when [she’s] able.”
Gosselin returned with an update later that day, revealing that she had undergone one of the “top 3 most painful [surgeries].” She revealed that her puppy, Meika, had “[run into her] full speed ahead,” which caused a tibial plateau fracture. Gosselin ultimately needed to have “plates and pins” put in her leg.
Gosselin said a doctor had described her injury as “life-altering” and shared that she was treating her pain with meds and an “ice machine” on her knee.

After returning home from the hospital, Kate — who rose to fame as the mom of twins Mady and Cara, 25, and sextuplets Aaden, Hannah, Collin, Leah, Joel and Alexis, 21, with ex-husband Jon Gosselin — reflected on her accident and how happy she was to be on the mend.
“I just wanted to give you a quick update that my first night at home was amazing, and it’s all sinking in how helpless I am. It’s making me think back to over what 21 years ago, when I was on bed rest,” she said in one video, referring to her pregnancy with her sextuplets.
Recalling the moment Meika collided with her leg, Kate said, “I will never forget the power of that impact. It made a thud sound — not a breaking bone sound, a thud sound. And I just froze and crumpled.”

She also addressed her critics, noting, “Whatever, I just know you don’t know what I’m going through, and that’s fine too, but we should all keep our mean comments to ourselves.”
Kate’s accident came days after she revealed via the social media platform that she had been in a relationship “for the past year to a little over a year, maybe like 14, 15 months.”
“I am super, super happy. It’s somebody that I’ve known for a really long time, and I am very, very happy,” she said in the September 23 video.
