Erling Haaland continues to slam in the goals, while two mega-money summer signings are starting to find their groove.
This is the latest edition of talkSPORT’s Premier League striker power rankings.

Each week, talkSPORT.com has their say on who the top ten strikers in the English top flight are.
These rankings will update on a week-to-week basis depending on how they perform, meaning a striker who is ranked second one week could easily fall a few spots should they play poorly in their next game.
These rankings were also based on a combination of five key metrics: goals scored, goals scored per 90 minutes, expected goals (xG), conversion rate as well as shots on target per 90.

10th – Alexander Isak (Liverpool)
Last week’s ranking: 10th
The wait continues for Alexander Isak’s first Premier League goal as a Liverpool player.
In a dramatic 2-1 loss to Chelsea on Saturday, Isak managed just one shot during his 73 minutes on the pitch at Stamford Bridge.
However, the Swede did register his first assist of the season for the Reds.
Dominik Szoboszlai whipped in a cross from the right byline which took a slight deflection off of Marc Cucurella.
With his back to goal and tightly marked by Reece James, Isak controlled the ball and flicked it into the path of Cody Gakpo, who made no mistake from a handful of yards out.
Isak’s detractors will say he miscontrolled the ball and it fortuitously landed at the feet of Gakpo, while his fans will claim it was a deft touch and an intelligent bit of play.
Either way, the Reds’ record signing is off the mark when it comes to goal contributions in the Premier League.

9th – Igor Thiago (Brentford)
Last week’s ranking: 8th
Being a striker for a mid-to-lower-table club in the Premier League is a rather thankless task whenever you come up against Manchester City.
Unfortunately for Brentford’s Igor Thiago, he had the ignominy of running onto balls in the channel and trying to hold up play without many supporting runners against City’s formidable centre-back pairing of Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol.
The Brazilian huffed and puffed but ultimately could not blow City’s house down, although he did have a golden chance to get on the scoresheet.
Gvardiol completely misjudged a header and fell flat on his face, allowing Thiago to run onto the ball and bear down on City’s goal with only Gianluigi Donnarumma to beat.
It was a strikingly similar situation to the one that allowed Thiago to open the scoring in Brentford’s win over Manchester United, when he timed his run to perfection and stole a march on Harry Maguire.
But Donnarumma was up to the task and denied Thiago with a huge stop.
Had Thiago scored, it would have been his fifth of the season and he’d have had the second-most goals in the Premier League this term.

8th – Richarlison (Tottenham)
Last week’s ranking: 6th
After a lacklustre display against Wolves in Tottenham’s last game, Richarlison had to make do with a spot on the bench for the trip to Leeds on Saturday.
The Brazilian had to wait until the 73rd minute to enter the contest, as he came on for Xavi Simons.
Given Tottenham were up 2-1 at the time of his entry, Richarlison’s duties didn’t need to revolve around attacking.
He ended his appearance with a single shot and completed just two of three passes attempted.
Safe to say, it wasn’t the finest display from Richarlison but given Tottenham needed to see out the contest rather than go for the jugular, perhaps there is some room for mitigation.

7th – Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest)
Last week’s ranking: 5th
Chris Wood’s Premier League goal drought is now starting to become a little problematic.
Nottingham Forest’s 2-0 loss to Newcastle on Sunday has ramped up the pressure on embattled boss Ange Postecoglou, but for Wood, he’s now gone six league fixtures without a goal.
The Kiwi international was far from his formidable best against the Magpies too, as he failed to register a single shot.
In fact, Wood had just one touch inside the Newcastle box before he was taken off just after the hour mark and replaced by Igor Jesus.
Postecoglou desperately needs Wood to find his scoring boots sooner than later.

6th – Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool)
Last week’s ranking: 3rd
Having started Liverpool’s first five league fixtures, Saturday marked the first time Ekitike had been dropped to the bench in place of Isak for a Premier League game.
The pair swapped places in the 73rd minute as both teams pushed for a winner, but Ekitike could not provide the extra quality Liverpool needed.
With Isak having seemingly established himself as the Reds’ starting striker, Ekitike’s opportunities in the Premier League could soon be limited to a role as an impact substitution.
Ekitike remains around the halfway point in our power rankings thanks to his early flurry of goals, but should he permanently be displaced by Isak, he could easily continue his slide down the list.

5th – Benjamin Sesko (Manchester United)
Last week’s ranking: Not ranked
Benjamin Sesko is one of two new faces in the latest edition of our power rankings.
The towering Slovenian bagged his second league goal in as many games for Manchester United with an intelligent finish against Sunderland.
A long throw floated in from the right was flicked on by a Sunderland player, but Sesko anticipated that would be the case before his marker had a chance to react.
Sesko nipped in and steered home from close range, powering United to their second goal of the afternoon.
The £74million man’s two-goal haul makes him United’s top scorer in the Premier League as he continues to find his feet.

4th – Nick Woltemade (Newcastle United)
Last week’s ranking: Not ranked
Nick Woltemade is quickly looking every bit of the £69million Newcastle forked out for him, even if Bayern Munich’s big wigs disagree.
Like Sesko, Woltemade now has two goals in two games as he bagged one of the Magpies’ two in their win over Nottingham Forest.
The German skyscraper’s latest strike came via what may have been the best penalty we’ll see all season, as he defied Matz Sels’ theatrics to slam his effort into the top left corner.
Following the 2-0 win over Nottingham, Woltemade now sits second in the league for the most goals per 90 mins with 0.89, a figure bettered only by Erling Haaland.
Woltemade also boasts an impressive conversion rate of 42.86 per cent having scored three goals from seven shots.
It’s an incredibly impressive start to Premier League life from the 23-year-old.

3rd – Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace)
Last week’s ranking: 4th
Yes, Jean-Philippe Mateta has risen in our power rankings despite not scoring for Crystal Palace in their 2-1 loss to Everton on Sunday.
Yes, goals are the greatest currency for strikers.
But Mateta is still a handful for defenders and he proved that against the Toffees, even if he didn’t have a goal to show for it.
The Frenchman led the way for Palace with three shots, two of which were on target, as well as a team-leading five touches inside Everton’s box.
Unfortunately Mateta’s blank means he remains one of the most wasteful strikers in the league having scored just twice from a season-long xG of 4.08.
His conversion rate also makes for grim reading having scored twice from 17 shots, which generates a conversion rate of 11.76 per cent.

2nd – Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal)
Last week’s ranking: 2nd
After three goals in his first four league fixtures, the well has run dry for Gyokeres having fired blanks in his last three games.
The Swede had ample opportunity to add a fourth league goal to his name on Saturday against West Ham United as he had a game-leading eight touches inside the opposition box.
But Gyokeres, who finished with an xG of 0.63, could not make the most of his two shots as Arsenal’s goalscoring burden fell to Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka.
Gyokeres has still shown flashes of what he’s capable of and given the season remains less than 10 games old, it’s hard to draw any firm conclusions about whether it’s money well or poorly spent by the Gunners.
Yet the longer his league drought rumbles on, the louder his detractors will grow.

1st – Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
Last week’s ranking: 1st
Once again, the easiest selection of the week.
Haaland is sprinting away with the golden boot award this season as he added his ninth league goal away to Brentford on Sunday.
The Manchester City superstar bullied Sepp van den Berg out of the way before he fired in an unerring finish past Caoimhin Kelleher in what proved to be the only goal of the game.
Haaland also now has 29 shots to his name, which is nearly double the tally of those who are second in the most shots taken department as four players sit on 17 taken.
With nine goals from seven games, Haaland is comfortably on his way to eclipsing his goal tally of 22 from last season, his joint-lowest haul from the last five years.
