Liverpool head to Stamford Bridge as the leaders of the Premier League, but Arne Slot’s side are reeling after back-to-back defeats and may be vulnerable against Chelsea on Saturday.

Bet of the day

Chelsea draw no bet @ 11/10

Defending champions Liverpool fell to their first defeat of the season against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last weekend, and they failed to respond to that setback in their gruelling midweek trip to Turkey, losing 1-0 at Galatasaray in the Champions League.

The Reds have not lost three consecutive games since April 2023, but that streak may be broken at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Chelsea are not exactly at the top of their game right now, but Enzo Maresca responded to reports that his role was at risk by beating Benfica 1-0 in midweek, and the Blues have an impressive defensive record in front of their own fans.

They have kept three clean sheets in four home matches this term, and Liverpool’s recent downturn in results is hardly a surprise considering the last-gasp winners they have benefited from.

Arne Slot’s side have needed late goals to beat Southampton, Atletico Madrid, Burnley, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Bournemouth this season, and they could find themselves on the end of another defeat when they face a Chelsea side that beat them 3-1 in west London in May.

Special of the day

Bet Builder – Dominik Szoboszlai and Enzo Fernandez to have 1+ shots each & Marc Cucurella & Conor Bradley to commit 1+ fouls each @ 9/4

Only seven players in the Premier League have attempted more shots on goal than Dominik Szoboszlai this season, and the Hungary talisman had his 19th shot in nine games against Galatasaray in midweek.

He has had at least one shot in eight of these nine fixtures, and that record is almost matched by Chelsea counterpart Enzo Fernandez.

The Blues midfielder has had one or more shots in five of his last six appearances and registered four attempts against Brighton last weekend.

Full-back duo Marc Cucurella and Conor Bradley look good value to give the referee a hard time, too.

Cucurella will be lining up against Mohamed Salah and has committed at least one foul in nine of his 11 games for club and country this season, totalling 17 offences.

Bradley is not a guaranteed starter, but even when he hasn’t started this season, he has still found himself getting a talking to more often than not.

The Liverpool right-back has committed 13 fouls in nine appearances for club and country, averaging a foul every 50 minutes of play.

Long shot of the day

Enzo Fernandez to score first @ 17/2

Fernandez has been a key figure in Chelsea’s attack since the start of last season, but the Argentine midfielder is often overlooked in goalscorer markets, despite an excellent start to the new campaign.

He has scored three goals in six appearances and now has nine goals and eight assists in the Premier League since the start of last season. He has tripled his European league goal tally since playing under Maresca, and he can continue adding to his total against Liverpool.

He netted the opener against Brighton last time out and scored the first of three Chelsea goals when these sides last met in May, so he looks good value to open the scoring at Stamford Bridge.
