Arsenal v West Ham prediction
Arsenal head into the weekend now on a three-match winning streak after beating Greek side Olympiacos 2-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Mikel Arteta’s side have now won seven of their nine matches in all competitions this season, losing only once and with five wins and a draw for their last six outings.
Last weekend’s dramatic 2-1 win at Newcastle, secured by a 96th minute winner, has put the Gunners in striking distance of the top of the Premier League table.
Only two points currently separate the north London club from the Premier League’s summit, and with league leaders Liverpool not playing until after Arsenal do, the Gunners have the chance to pile the pressure on the defending champions and lift dethrone them at the top.
West Ham’s run of five defeats in six matches this season came to an end on Monday night after they earned a 1-1 draw at Everton in what was Nuno Espirito Santo’s first match in charge since being announced as Graham Potter’s successor at the London Stadium.
The Hammers still sit in the relegation zone though with just four points to their name from their six league games so far, a point from safety, but can take confidence in the knowledge that all of their points accrued this season have come in their last two away games.
The east London side have won on each of their last two visits to the Emirates Stadium, and will cross the capital with a new lease of confidence having had more time to get used to the new manager and his tactics and ideas.
Arsenal have won only two of their last six matches against their London rivals, though both of those victories have come in their last thee meetings, in which they’ve scored 11 goals combined.
The Gunners will see Saturday as a huge opportunity to make a statement to the Premier League by climbing to the top of the table, even if just for a few hours, while the Hammers have just one win to their name all season – I see a 3-0 home win being played out.
Arsenal v West Ham betting tips
Martinelli on the mark again
No player on either team has scored more goals this season than Gabriel Martinelli in all competitions this season, who bagged his third goal of the campaign in scoring the opener in Wednesday’s win over Olympiacos.
The Brazilian winger has only started four games so far this season, but is expected to be involved from the off on Saturday having scored three goals in his last five appearances at an average of a goal every 68 minutes.

Gunners aim for Premier League sumit
Arsenal have seven of their nine matches in all competitions this season, including five of their last six ahead of their clash with a West Ham side dwelling in the Premier League’s relegation zone and with five defeats from their seven outings so far.
The Gunners will climb to the top of the Premier League with victory on Saturday, even if just for a few hours, but it will be a real chance to signal their intent to their title rivals, particularly current league leaders Liverpool.
