A huge rematch in the Light Heavyweight division sees Alex Pereira looking to gain revenge on Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320 in Las Vegas.

That match-up is one of two title fights on the card, with Merab Dvalishvili also defending his Bantamweight title against Cory Sandhagen.

Here we look at some of the best bets from UFC 320.

A hat-trick for Merab

Making three title defences in one calendar year would be some feat for Merab Dvalishvili (20-4-0), who faces Cory Sandhagen (18-5-0) in the co-main event.

Dvalishvili was last seen in June submitting Sean O’Malley in the third round of a rematch of a fight that first won him the title in dominating fashion over five rounds last September.

Sandwiched in between was another impressive display, as he outworked the feared and to that point undefeated Umar Nurmagomedov in January.

The 34-year-old is a cardio machine with a Sambo wrestling style that relies on relentlessness rather than control.

A 13-fight win streak dating back to 2018 has seen the Georgian almost lap the division before being champion with wins over Henry Cejudo, Jose Aldo and Petr Yan.

Sandhagen previously fought for the interim title in 2021 when losing a unanimous decision to the aforementioned Yan.

The American is the perennial nearly man of the division, beating many of the top contenders but losing vital title eliminators, including when dominated by Umar Nurmagomedov two fights ago.

However a bounceback win over Deiveson Figueiredo (R2 – TKO, knee injury) in May sees him get a first shot at undisputed gold.

Sandhagen should provide a good test for the champion, the 33-year-old has great footwork and is good in all areas of MMA.

However, Dvalishvili looks an extremely difficult proposition to dethrone, his all round game has levelled up since becoming champion and his seemingly bottomless gas tank gives him a significant advantage.

Pyfer Power

Middleweight contender Joe Pyfer (14-3-0) looks to hit the top 15 of the rankings with a win over Abus Magomedov (28-6-1).

Pyfer has a UFC record of 5-1 and was last seen in June winning a decision over Kelvin Gastelum.

Famed for his chin, Gastelum was knocked down badly by Pyfer in the first round, but the American took his foot off the gas, eventually securing the win on the scorecards.

The 29-year-old has impressed with his knockout power, scoring three KO’s from five Octagon appearances.

Pyfer has one defeat in the UFC, a decision loss to wily veteran Jack Hermansson, but is now on a two fight winning streak after wins against Gastelum and a first round KO of Marc-André Barriault.

Magomedov is 4-2 in the UFC and on a three-fight win streak himself.

The 35-year-old got a unanimous decision win over Michel Pereira last time out in April in what was a large unattractive affair.

A sniper of a kickboxer, the Germany-based fighter also has recent wins over Brunno Ferreira (R3 -sub) and Warlley Alves (UD), with defeats to Caio Borralho (UD) and Sean Strickland (R2 -TKO).

Pyfer is fancied to get another win here and, with his substantial power advantage, could land himself yet another finish inside the Octagon.

Patchy to Mix things up

Patchy Mix (20-2-0) can get back on track against Jakub Wikłacz (16-3-2) after becoming the latest former Bellator champion to have a jittering start to life in the UFC.

Mix lost a short-notice fight with the red-hot Mario Bautista by decision on his debut in June, just a couple of weeks after negotiating his release from PFL.

The 32-year-old gave an underwhelming performance in a week where he made a big impact with his media interviews and press conference trash talk.

Mix’s two title defences in Bellator against Magomed Magomedov (UD) and Sergio Pettis (Sub – R2), followed a spectacular first-round knockout of Raufeon Stots to win the belt.

Wikłacz makes his UFC debut here after racking up a 6-1-1 record in rival promotion KSW.

The 29-year-old earned his shot with a nasty guillotine on Sebastian Przybysz last time out and has shown himself to be a submission specialist on the regional scene.

However, Mix has the ability to get in the win column here; 15 of his 20 pro wins have ended early, with 13 wins coming via submission.
