Princess Anne is offering a glimpse into the lives of her grandchildren.

While visiting the Naval Children’s Charity in Portsmouth on Wednesday, September 24, the Princess Royal, 75, was gifted merchandise — including a children’s apron.

“Yes, I don’t think that’s going to fit me,” Anne said, per Hello! “It might fit my grandchildren, they all cook actually.”

Anne — the only daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II — is mom to son Peter, 47, and daughter Zara, 44, whom she shares with ex-husband Mark Phillips. Anne and Phillips were married from 1973 to 1992. The same year she split from Phillips, Anne wed now-husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

Anne’s son, Peter, shares daughters Savannah, 14, and Isla, 13, with ex-wife Autumn Kelly. (Kelly, 47, shared in 2020 that she and Peter had split, with their divorce finalized the next year.)

Anne’s daughter, Zara, meanwhile, went on to marry rugby union player Mike Tindall and the pair share three kids: daughters Mia, 11, and Lena, 7, and son Lucas, 3.

While Peter is the nephew of King Charles III, he has no royal title — which is something Anne and Phillips chose for their children.

“We were always brought up on the understanding that we were going to have to go to work,” Peter said in the 2020 documentary Anne: The Princess Royal at 70. “We were going to have to go out and … earn our living. Regardless of the fact of who our grandmother was or who our mother was.”

As he reflected on his life at Anne’s Gloucestershire estate, Gatcombe Park, Peter explained that the family often visits with his mom.

“She loves seeing them ride, she loves having them round for Sunday lunches and taking them for walks,” he shared. “Doing all the things that we would do as kids.”

Following his divorce from Kelly, Peter announced his engagement to Harriet Sperling in August.

“Mr. Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, and Ms. Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr. Rupert Sanders and Mrs. Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today confirmed their official engagement,” read a statement released to Hello! Magazine at the time. “Both families were informed jointly of the announcement and were delighted with the wonderful news of their engagement.”

The statement noted that Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla, as well as Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton, were “informed of the announcement,” adding, “No date has been officially set for the wedding.”
