  • Erling Haaland to score The two-time Premier League Golden Boot winner bagged a brace in last weekend’s opener at Wolves, putting the Norwegian joint top of the goal scoring charts at this early stage of the campaign
  • Richarlison to score or be carded The Tottenham forward has also started the season in goal scoring form, scoring twice in last week’s league opener against Burnley – the Brazilian also leads Spurs’ booking tally after collecting a yellow in the Super Cup
  • Joao Palhinha to be carded The Spurs midfielder only played 10 minutes of last week’s match against Burnley but still managed concede a foul and is expected to start from the off on Saturday against title candidates which will keep him busy in the middle of the park
  • 8+ corners in the match Both sides were awarded six corners each across their matches last weekend, and with two attacking sides on show a high corner count is likely once again

Two of the top three sides in the Premier League table, albeit after one one game each, come to blows on Saturday lunchtime with two Champions League teams taking each other one.

Manchester City will head into this weekend’s bout as strong favourites having won four of the last five league titles, and started the current campaign in exemplary form with a thumping 4-0 win at Molineux over Wolves.

An Erling Haaland brace combined with goals from new signings Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki leaves Pep Guardiola’s side sitting pretty at the top of the league ahead of their first real test of the season, which comes this weekend in their first home outing.

The Citizens will be aiming to put on a show in front of their home fans on Saturday lunchtime to prove that finishing 13 points behind the league winners last season was just a blip, and they will very much be in the hunt for the title once again this time around.

Tottenham recovered well from their Super Cup heartbreak last week in Italy in which they let a 2-0 lead against European champions PSG slip with just five minutes to play, eventually losing on penalties.

Thomas Frank’s new side dusted themselves down for their opening game of the domestic campaign against a newly promoted Burnley side, wiht two goals from Richarlison and one from Brennan Johnson giving Spurs all three points and leaving them joint second in the table.

Saturday’s bout at the home of Manchester City will signal biggest test since his move across London from Brentford in the summer, and will give the Dane a better feeling of where the level of his squad is at having taken over a side who finished 17th in the league last season.

Spurs have won two of their last three matches against Manchester City, including a memorable 4-0 win on their last trip to the Etihad, where they have lost only one of their last four, and two of their last six matches.
