The Price Tag singer, who shares a son with partner Colman, revealed her struggles with motherhood while battling cancer in a recent episode of the Great Company with Jamie Laing” podcast.

Jessie confessed she doesn’t feel good about the time spent fighting cancer, which could have been devoted to creating memories with her son.

“Yesterday I sobbed, because I miss my boy. I can’t be a mom like I want to be a mom, and I feel robbed,” the mother of one admitted. 

She also acknowledged that she has not been able to be a fully present mother for her 2-year-old son, which has been painful for her because Sky is in his formative stage.

“And anyone with a toddler knows that they change so much in that space of time. You blink and he’s chatting,” she said.

Beyond not being able to fully take part in her son’s life, the singer revealed that she feared cancer could steal all her time with him, admitting she thought she might lose her life at the early stage of her diagnosis.

“I had moments where I was like, ‘This is going to go left and I’m going to die,’” she said.

She also spoke honestly about her confusion, not knowing what lay ahead after being diagnosed with “about 4–5 cm of cancer” in her breast.

The Flashlight singer's candid confession about her struggles comes months after she shared the good news about her health following surgery.

As reported by The Blast, Jessie revealed in an Instagram post that her surgery was successful and that there was no cancer spread.

Her son, who has been a major source of strength in her life, also appeared in the post. In a video recorded before the procedure, the mother and son duo expressed positivity about the surgery.

“You are my biggest ray of light, and with you in my life, the darkness will never win,” she gushed, crediting her son for giving her strength through it all.

Jessie didn’t end her message without thanking her fans, who flooded the comments section with joy over the update.

She added that she still has one more surgery ahead, but is choosing to focus on the present, jokingly calling herself The LopJess Monster.”

“I will always show the good and hard bits of any journey I go through,” she wrote in her caption.

One slide showed her sharing an emotional kiss with her partner, Colman, while another captured a bubbly moment with her son, Sky.

According to The Blast, Jessie detailed how much blood she lost during the procedure, even explaining to her son in a video that the container placed beside her was collecting blood from her body.

She wrapped up the update by appreciating the medical team who cared for her and offering encouragement to others facing similar challenges. “Still hugging everyone going through something tough right now. We all got this,” she urged.
