Years after Dua Lipa wore a thought-provoking dress to a wedding, she has finally opened up about why she chose that outfit.

The Grammy Award winner, whose style often has fans talking, defended being a bit risqué at the star-studded nuptials.

Lipa's revelation comes after she shared her candid thoughts on motherhood as she and her fiancé, Callum Turner, prepare to walk down the aisle.

Dua Lipa States Her Reason For Her Outfit Choice at Jacquemus' Wedding

The 29-year-old singer, who attended Simon Porte Jacquemus and Marco Maestri's wedding in 2022, finally addressed her outfit choice in an interview with Harper's Bazaar.

Lipa didn't seem to understand why so many people had a lot to say about the outfit, as she revealed that the groom, who also happened to be the designer of the dress, personally asked her to wear it.

Admitting that it indeed caused a "stir," the "One Kiss" songstress explained, "The dress code was white. From all the pictures, you can see that everybody's wearing white, so I don't know why I got so much stick for it."

She then added, "I think also because I was kind of quite naked for it as well." Nevertheless, Lipa confessed that she genuinely felt good wearing the dress, regardless of the criticism.

The singer stuck to the rule of the day with a gorgeous white dress and matching accessories. Per The Blast, the figure-hugging sheer ensemble featured a thigh-high slit and an embroidered floral detail in the front. 

Lipa's lithe waist and toned legs were on full display, leaving little to the imagination. Luckily, she played it safe with her underwear, keeping them white to match the dress.

While fashion enthusiasts were impressed with her choice of outfit, not everyone agreed, as it was reminiscent of the sheer look the singer wore to the "Barbie" movie premiere.

Lipa's defense of her fashion choices comes after she gushed about her love life, revealing how she found love in the arms of Turner. In an interview reported by The Blast, she recalled how they first met.

She explained that their initial meeting took place at a restaurant, but before then, they had crossed paths several times through mutual friends, moments she described as "Sliding Doors moments."

The award-winning singer went on to share that the defining moment in their love story came when they eventually met at a dinner in L.A. and discovered they were both reading the same book.

Lipa also gave her assurance about the relationship, saying she believes they are meant to be together "one thousand per cent."
