Bet of the Day – Hibernian to beat Legia Warsaw @ 2/1

Hibernian would have hoped for a slightly easier Conference League play-off draw, but a Easter Road tie against Leiga Warsaw may not be as difficult as offers of 2/1 suggest. 

David Gray’s men impressed in a 2-0 Scottish League Cup win at Livingston on Sunday and Hibs have started the campaign in pretty good fashion. 

Gray made six chances to his side for the win at Almondvale and that should help keep Hibs fresh on Thursday. 

The Leith side can call on a vocal home support at Easter Road and that could prove a bigger boost than anticipated. 

Legia Warsaw were beaten at AEK Larnaca in their Europa League qualification effort. The Poles also failed to win at Banik Ostrava and only managed a narrow 1-0 success against lowly Aktobe in the earlier rounds of that competition. 

Perhaps Legia will be good enough to turn the tie around on home turf, but they are likely to have work to do following Thursday night’s first leg.

Longshot of the Day – Malmo to beat Sigma Olomouc 3-1 @ 21/2

Malmo dropped into the Europa League following a 5-0 Champions League hammering at the hands of Copenhagen, but Henrik Rydstrom’s men can bounce back and land a high-scoring victory over Sigma Olomouc.

The Swedes crushed Halmstads 4-0 at the weekend and they also scored a 4-1 success over RFS in the earlier rounds of European qualification. 

Win or lose, Malmo are a team that tend to be involved in entertaining matches and five of their last seven games have gone over 3.5 goals. 

Sigma Olomouc play their first Europa League game of the campaign and this is a side which could only finish sixth in the Czech top flight last term. 

Malmo should cruise to victory on Thursday night and a 3-1 correct score punt could be worth chancing. 

Special of the Day – Malmo, Anderlecht, Celje treble @ 24/5 

Malmo are a class above Sigma Olomouc and the Swedes should have no issues securing a first-leg advantage at Eleda Stadion.

Anderlecht were mighty unfortunate to lose out to Hacken in a Europa League penalty shootout and the Purple and White should be too strong for Conference League opponents AEK Athens.

Celje were another side who were a little unlucky in the Europa League qualifiers after they were edged out 3-2 on aggregate by AEK Laranca in the second-qualifying round.

Albert Riera’s men hit 38 shots in a 7-4 two-leg victory over Lugano in their previous Conference League contest and the Slovenian side can outgun Banik Ostrava.
