TikTok star John Crawley, known by his handle KingBeardX, has died. He was 47 years old.
“I’m really sorry to tell everyone the bad news but Pimpmunkx (KingBeardx) passed away yesterday,” read an update shared on Tuesday, August 19, via a GoFundMe page organized by Crawley’s friend and former podcast cohost, Anthony Caruso. “Thank you to everyone that has supported the fundraiser so far. His mother told me to thank you all.”
Caruso created the page on August 5 to help Crawley and his mom with his expenses while he was in the hospital. Crawley did not have health insurance and was the “main breadwinner” for his family.
The fundraiser will now go towards funeral expenses and financially assisting John’s mother amid her grief.

According to the GoFundMe page’s initial description, Crawley was taken to the ICU at a local hospital in Tupelo, Mississippi. His family stated that Crawley was struggling with his breathing.
“He went to the hospital; he was having trouble breathing. Doctors put him on a ventilator … we went past 66 percent (O2 levels) and he stopped breathing,” the post read. “They (put him into the ICU and) brought it back up to 100 percent (O2 levels). He just had a tube placed in his chest … his breathing condition is still very bad.”
Caruso provided an update on Sunday, August 17, sharing that he spoke to Crawley’s mother and the family seemed hopeful about the social media star’s condition at the time.
“He can’t talk but he is awake and responsive which is a good sign but he is still having lung/breathing issues,” Caruso wrote.
