Charley Hull has been forced to train in a ‘moon boot’ after a freak car park injury.

The English golfer is recovering after damaging her foot by tripping over a curb.

Hull admits she heard her ankle pop after the fall, which meant she ‘nearly fainted’.

The world number 10 was forced out of the PIF London Championship earlier this month as a result of the injury.

She has now provided an update for fans on her return to fitness.

Hull took to the gym whilst wearing her protective boot, sharing a snap from the session to her social media.

Alongside the post on Instagram, she wrote: “Training in a moon boot…”

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old has also lifted the lid on how the injury occurred.

Hull explained: “Coming out of the locker room, I had a skip in my step because I love practising.

“But then I fell over a curb in the car park and was lying on the floor shouting for my boyfriend to come get me.

“The security guard was watching me and I heard my ankle pop. I thought I broke it. Someone picked me up and put me in the car.

“I went down so quickly, I nearly fainted. I was not sure if I was overreacting. I started moving my ankle and it’s nowhere near as bad as I thought.”

After being left requiring treatment, Hull was forced out of the PIF London Championship at the Centurion Club.

In her absence, Germany’s Laura Fuenfstueck claimed a one-shot victory.

It has been a difficult season for Hull, who withdrew from the Evian Championship in July due to illness.

The British number one had to be stretchered off the course after collapsing midway through her opening round.

Hull’s LPGA major wait

Although she has since recovered, Hull has not played competitively since missing out on a maiden major win at the Women’s Open.

She finished tied-second behind Miyu Yamashita of Japan at Royal Portchawl.

A three-under par final round was not enough for Hull as she finished two strokes behind after bogeying two of the final three holes.

Her runner-up finish alongside Minami Katsu is the fourth of her career at LPGA majors.

Only Ayako Okamoto has done so more times without winning a major in LPGA history with six.

Hull will now have to wait until the 2026 Chevron Championship in April next year to end her major drought.
